Black lesbians and Black queer women often encounter significant barriers when seeking affirming healthcare, mental health services, legal support, professional development, financial education, and other essential resources. The BEL Professional Network aims to close these gaps by fostering community empowerment through stronger connections between our community and professionals ready to serve, educate, and collaborate. Through this supportive network, BEL is building a future where we can more easily find: Affirming and culturally responsive care, trusted professional referrals, educational and career opportunities, research that reflects our lived experiences, mentorship and leadership development, and resources that support long-term health, stability, and success, while enhancing Black lesbians networking opportunities.
We welcome professionals, researchers, organizations, and community partners who are committed to supporting Black lesbians and Black queer women through community empowerment initiatives. While you do not need to identify as a Black lesbian or Black queer woman to participate, it is essential to demonstrate a genuine commitment to affirming, respectful, and culturally responsive service, which can also lead to professional opportunities.
