Black Educated Lesbians Programs

Mind, Body & Soul: Mental Health, Music & Meditation

Healing Begins in Community.

The Mind, Body & Soul initiative is Black Educated Lesbians' (BEL) holistic wellness program dedicated to supporting the emotional, mental, physical, and social well-being of Black lesbians and Black queer women. Our commitment extends to financial empowerment and leadership mentoring, ensuring that our community can flourish on multiple levels.

We believe wellness extends beyond the absence of illness. It is built through meaningful relationships, culturally affirming spaces, movement, reflection, creativity, and community. Through consistent programming, Mind, Body & Soul creates opportunities for our community to connect, heal, and thrive together, while also engaging in vital mental health initiatives.

Whether someone needs a space to talk, quiet companionship while working toward personal goals, restorative movement, or identity-affirming healing, Mind, Body & Soul offers accessible experiences that encourage wellness and growth throughout the year.

BEL Wealth & Legacy: Economic Development

Theme: Financial Empowerment and Economic Justice

Purpose:

The BEL Wealth & Legacy program is dedicated to equipping Black lesbians with the essential knowledge, tools, and resources necessary for building financial stability and generational wealth. We believe that financial empowerment is not just a means of survival—it’s a step towards liberation. Through a combination of workshops, leadership mentoring, and access to expert guidance, this initiative supports our community in achieving financial freedom while fostering mental health initiatives that encourage holistic well-being and community resilience.

Key Activities:

Financial Literacy – Workshops and learning series focused on budgeting, saving, credit repair, debt management, and building healthy financial habits that promote long-term stability.

Home Buying & Asset Building – Education and guidance on homeownership, including understanding the buying process, improving credit readiness, navigating mortgages, and avoiding predatory lending practices.

Generational Wealth – Support around investing, retirement planning, insurance, estate basics, and legacy planning to help participants protect their assets and ensure that wealth is passed forward effectively.
