The Black Educated Lesbians (BEL) Facebook group is where our movement first took root—and where thousands of Black queer women continue to gather, connect, and grow every day.
This private, members-only space serves as the central hub of the BEL community. Here, Black queer women from around the world come together to share experiences, exchange resources, celebrate wins, and support one another through every season of life. It’s more than a social space—it’s a sanctuary for authenticity, empowerment, and collective healing.
Whether you're new to BEL or a longtime member, this group is the heart of our network and a powerful entry point to everything we offer.
Membership is limited to Black queer women to ensure a space rooted in shared identity, cultural respect, and lived experience. We prioritize safety, compassion, and community accountability.

Black Educated Lesbians (BEL) is proud to cultivate a powerful network of official chapters across the United States and internationally. These chapters are more than just social groups—they are vibrant community hubs where members can build local sisterhood, foster authentic connections, and participate in transformative programming aligned with BEL’s mission.
Each chapter provides a space for Black queer women to organize, uplift one another, and engage in in-person and virtual events that reflect the unique culture and needs of their region. From community meetups and wellness gatherings to professional development and local advocacy, BEL chapters create intentional spaces for growth, joy, and collective empowerment.
Whether you're based in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, the Caribbean, or Southeast Asia—there’s a chapter designed for you to plug in, show up, and thrive.
